2-4 pm--Cold-Weather Containers! Sticks and twigs in bright colors and unusual shapes are just the ticket for building inexpensive, wintry containers – inside or out. Come to Bowood Farms on Saturday, Nov. 22 – from 2 to 4 p.m. – to see representatives of Lefevre Blooms & Branches create winter beauty with stems of red- and yellow-twig dogwood, Ilex winterberry red and other decorative branches. Victorian Christmas at Tower Grove House. See the Victorian country home of Garden founder Henry Shaw decked for the season with wreaths, garland, floral centerpieces, greenery and a holiday tree. Younger visitors can look for old-fashioned toys hidden throughout the house. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays.

9 am-5 pm--“Gardenland Express” annual holiday flower and train show. G-scale model trains travel through a miniature landscape of live plants, surrounded by colorful poinsettias and flowers. Garden admission plus $3. Free for members. Missouri Botanical Gardens at Ridgway Center.

Learn, Listen & Identify the Birds

Join Heidi Retherford, an avid bird enthusiast for many years, as she takes you on a walk through the Arboretum sharing her wealth of knowledge about birds and how to identify them by their songs and calls. Please dress appropriately (closed toe shoes and long slacks are recommended). Bug repellent and binoculars are encouraged. While these Bird Walks are free, space will be limited. Younger visitors can look for old-fashioned toys hidden throughout the house. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m. Closed Mondays.

9 am-5 pm--“Gardenland Express” annual holiday flower and train show. G-scale model trains travel through a miniature landscape of live plants, surrounded by colorful poinsettias and flowers. Garden admission plus $3. Free for members. Missouri Botanical Gardens at Ridgway Center.
November 29th
1-3 pm--Santa is Coming to Hillermann’s! Bring your kids and pets (no reptiles please) to visit with Santa! YHTI Internet will be available to take pictures and offer prints for a charitable donation to Loving Hearts Outreach.
