Under the leadership of Bob Bunch, BWI has grown from a small, retail store, Bunch Seed, to a 16-location company. In 1972, Bunch Wholesale, Inc., was formed with the Texarkana distribution center as the original location. Throughout the years, new distribution locations were added: Jackson, MS, 1981; Schulenburg, TX, 1987; Dallas, TX, 1989; Forest Hill, LA, and New Summerfield, TX, 1991; Memphis, TN, 1992; Semmes, AL, 1993; Houston, TX and Springfield, MO, 1994; Kansas City, KS and Greenville/Spartanburg, SC, 1996; Apopka, FL, 1997; and Homestead, FL, 2001. In 1992, the company was reorganized as BWI Companies, Inc., and now serves customers in 15 states.

BWI is proud of the fact that their selection of garden, nursery, turf, landscape and agricultural supplies is the largest in this area. Technical assistance is available to all customers through a staff of over 150 professional sales representatives. Regional Buyer's Markets are held where customers have the opportunity to preview new products and take advantage of special discounts.

With over 650 employees, BWI is built on providing their customers with top-notch service and quality products at competitive values by professional people. Through the dedication of the Bunch family and associates, BWI Companies, Inc., has continued to grow each year. Jim Bunch and Robert Bunch are now CEO's and co-presidents of the company while Bob Bunch remains as chairman of the board.
